Meet the Legrand Radiant 1597TRUSBAABK, the first ever GFCI and USB charging combo outlet. You have been asking for it for years and now it is here, the outlet everybody wants is now available with GFCI protection and two USB type A charging ports. The all-in-one solution now provides safety and charging in one standard size decora outlet in black color.
GFCI Protection with Tamper Resistant Plugs
The receptacle provides ground fault protection, it will constantly self-test to make sure that the current running into the outlet meets specifications. There is still a reset and test button on the outlet, as well as an indicator light. If all is working correctly the light is green, if there is an issue the light will flash red. The SafeLock feature will disconnect power to the receptacle if any critical component becomes damaged.
The outlet features load out connectors on the back of the unit, this will allow the user to GFCI protect outlets downstream on the same line that are not GFCI protected.
The plugs are tamper resistant and have integrated shutters so children can't insert any objects in the plugs and risk electrocution.
Dual USB Type A Charging Ports
The outlet features two USB-A charging ports, they offer 2.1 Amps of charging between the two ports. They are smart charging ports and will deliver the most amount of power that the device can safely handle. Now you don't have to use a bulky and unsightly adapter to provide USB charging on a GFI outlet, it is now built-into the outlet.
Installation Remains the Same as a Traditional Outlet
The outlet still fits in a standard 18 cubic inch wall box and can replace an existing outlet in less than 10 minutes. The side wire cavity allows for easy access to quickly install the wires to the outlet. The outlet is spec grade and UL listed for indoor and commercial applications.
The combo GFCI/USB receptacle is perfect for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, garages, basements, or anywhere that safe and protected power and charging is needed to meet NEC code.
