Availability: 35 in stock
  • Brand: Unbranded
  • Intended Use/Discipline: Biological Laboratory, Chemistry Laboratory
  • Material: Borosilicate Glass
  • Bundle Description: Originally four
  • Custom Bundle: Yes
  • Modified Item: No
  • Light Path: 10 mm
  • Condition: Lightly used (or possibly unused) rectangular cuvettes in a styrofoam rack, from a research laboratory. All cuvettes are clean, unmarked, and intact. Two cuvettes are in numbered bags (we checked, the ink is on the bag), one of which appears to be new, still sealed with a yellowed piece of cellophane tape (the cuvette itself is colorless). We have no way to assess if this is an optical glass cuvette (passes light with wavelengths of 334 nm and longer, up to the near-IR) or a quartz grade that allows transmission of shorter-wavelength light (eg UV quartz). It is probably *not* QS quartz (transmission down to ~200 nm) because the sides are not masked (black) to suppress light scattering. Yes, you can buy QS cuvettes without masking, especially in the old days, but in our experience people usually don’t. Open tops would need some kind of customized cap, not included. Photographs depict the detailed condition of the actual item for sale; they have been cropped but not otherwise modified.

    Description

Spectrophotometer cuvettes with an unusual narrow profile. Similar to standard cuvettes but holding one quarter the volume. As mentioned in the Condition Description we don’t know what kind of glass this is (looks like quartz to me) but because they are unmasked it’s a reasonable assumption that they’re not for use in the deep UV.
Specs (measured by seller, may not be exact): optical pathlength, 10 mm; polished sides, 2; interior dimensions, ~40 x 10 x 2.5 mm; external dimensions, 45 x 12.5 x 6.0 mm; maximum volume, about 1.0 mL.
Ships on the next business day by USPS Ground Advantage (USA only).
